Stringing thousands of grains of rice made of porcelain, I use the strands to draw upon a table. The table, which can be used on the ground or raised on blocks, is designed to be the drawing board for decades to come. This drawing is a version of the I Ching Hexagram 1, the hexagram I pulled in October 2023. Only after making the table, did I learn that it is a Dao tradition to draw using sand or rice tables.
